I bought this rower without being able to read any reviews on Amazon. I initially wanted to buy the Kettler Kadett rower because I enjoy the sculling action of an outrigger type rowing machine. But after comparing features and pricing I decided on the Sprint Rower. All I can say is that I am not disappointed with my decision.

For the price this is a fantastic rower. It really simulates the natural motion of rowing while providing a rigorous and enjoyable workout. Another great plus is that it folds up to be very compact. When not using is I slide it under my bed.

I consider myself average to below average when assembling things but I had the Sprint Rower together in under 15 minutes. The rower basically comes completely assembled and all that I needed to do was attach the display panel.

The display is nice because it gives you all of the basic features and the numbers are fairly large. I like to row without my glasses so this helps.

This is the first piece of exercise equipment that I have bought thru Amazon and I was very satisfied with the process. It was easy to do and the product arrived without any glitches.

I love my new rower and would recommend this product to anyone.

I purchased this rower from Amazon about two weeks ago based on its favorable reviews here and I’m very impressed so far. The construction is solid, all the movement is fluid and quiet, and it is easy to assemble and use.

Collapsing the arms for transport or storage is effortless and it’s easy to carry it up or down stairs as needed by a single person. The pistons are on the tight side, but not bad for an average person; my petite wife (a self-admitted “weenie”) can’t use it for more than 5 minutes at a time even at the lowest setting.

It’s not without its faults, but they’re minor enough. They’ve all been discussed in other reviews, but the ones that affect me are the useless computer and the too-soft hand grips. The computer is going in the trash. Since the sensor is triggered by the seat movement, it sometimes counts one stroke as two (since the seat slides over it on the down and up stroke) or as zero (when you don’t let the seat return all the way to the starting position).

Its controls are hideous and as mentioned before it’s so large it can get in the way. But I didn’t buy the rower for the computer, after all. Also, the hand grips do slide around during use and seem like they will fall apart over time, but using workout gloves makes them unnecessary anyway.

The truly great part about the Sprint is HCI’s customer service. When I received the rower one of the foot pedals was broken, although I was able to cobble it together well enough to use it while I waited for a replacement. I wrote to customer service and described the problem. There were no questions asked, no invoice needed, I just had to give them my address and the part was waiting at my door in three days. I wish every company stood by its products like this.

I would definitely recommend the Sprint. It may not be the highest-end rower out there, but for the money it’s an excellent product and one I expect to get many years of service out of. And with free shipping from Amazon (they said it would be 3 weeks, but I got it in one) you just can’t beat it.

I had to look for a new rower after my Integrity 3000 air rower broke and replacement parts are unavailable, or in my case, the part was welded between the frame and unable to get to without saw-zawing the frame in half. That was ok to me because I got good use out of it for 3+ years of abuse at only $250.

I really wanted to get a good rower for my second model, but wasn’t looking to spend over $500. I went with this model and the outrigging pistons. It’s not a horrible machine, but it just isn’t the same as an air or water rower. You can get a good arm and upper body workout, but the lag of the pistons at catch to pull allow for no leg explosion and you’ll already be at extension while you are still pulling the grips toward your chest.

Whereas on an air or water rower, you can use your legs to explode through the pull and finish with the arms and torso. I can get my quad muscles burning, lower abs sore, and arms shaking with an air rower. That is what gives a full body cardio workout. There is no explode on this. I only feel my arms getting a workout with this machine.

The range of movement with the pistons also suffer after about 20 minutes of straight use. The pistons become hot and it reduces the full range of motion. Mine also makes some annoying squeaky noises as you workout. I guess it may be good for someone who has never used a rowing machine of any sort.

If you’ve used an air or water type rower, you probably won’t like this. So maybe I am more into the full range feel of a rower, which is why I went out and bought a $900 water rower. They back it up with 3-5 year warranties on their machines
